PACE Showcase & Nonprofit Summit

 

Thursday, April 27, 2023, the PACE showcase began. The PACE Showcase was a chance for our community and campus to celebrate some of the many partnerships between Maryland’s Eastern Shore and Salisbury University. Over 125 attendees got to learn about ongoing partnerships, formed new connections and met the people doing excellent public work in our area.

A non-partisan institute committed to undergraduate learning that sparks interest in public affairs and civic engagement, PACE provides students such as Madeline with unique interactive learning experiences.

Jessica Basom

 

Jessica Basom, a ShoreCorps 2013 alum and an operations and volunteer coordinator at the Mid Shore Community Mediation Center (MSCMC), proves that the ShoreCorps program is one of the most beneficial experiences to help you become successful in a career. Jessica was a part of the ShoreCorps program for four years, until she officially started working full time for the MSCMC.

The Presidential Citizen Scholars (PCS) Program prepares students to be community leaders through civic scholarship and community action. Students who have chosen to become PCSs meet with members of the community to identify and research specific issues both groups are passionate about.

The NLA is a national alliance of nonprofit organizations, professionals and universities committed to prepare students to be leaders in the nonprofit sector. The news is amazing, especially if we consider that some universities in the NLA are the largest in the country, like Arizona State University, University of Central Florida and University of Houston.
