New Feature: Set Default Score for ALL Ungraded Assignments

On April 16, MyClasses added a new feature to assist instructors with end-of-semester grading! The MyClasses gradebook operates on a running total concept where total grades are calculated based on the assignments completed by the student and graded by the instructor. If a gradebook item shows a dash "-" then that assignment is not part of an individual student's grade calculation.

Instructors can quickly apply a score for all missing or ungraded assignments in Grades by selecting the Apply Score to Ungraded option on the Total column or an Assignment Group column. The grade will then be applied to all missing or ungraded artifacts based on your selections. Details are found in the Apply Score to ALL Ungraded Assignments KB article

Warning: Once applied, this bulk grading option can not be undone. Individual grades will need to be manually changed by the instructor.

Apply Score to Ungraded feature with options to apply score to past due assignments or all ungraded artifacts.

Thank a Teacher Week: May 2-6

Each May, the University System of Maryland Council for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning joins the Kirwan Center for Academic Innovation in planning faculty and instructor recognition activities as part of Thank a Teacher Week. This event coincides with the National Teacher Appreciation Week, which is May 2-6.

Students are invited to share their gratitude by writing a note on a physical postcard or by sending a note virtually. Students are asked to look for tables in the Guerrieri Academic Commons and the Guerrieri Student Union outside of Chick-fil-A where they can sign postcards. Last year, colleagues took advantage of this opportunity as well to share gratitude to colleagues.

Students are receiving communication via email and a MyClasses announcement regarding this event. More information is available at: www.salisbury.edu/thanks
