Publisher Integration and Inclusive Access Webinar

Integration of publisher content in MyClasses is a maze with different options around every turn. ID&D has partnered with the SU Bookstore to inform faculty of important updates related to:

  • Changes in publisher integrations for McGraw-Hill Connect, ALEKS, Pearson and more
  • Essential faculty workflows when using Inclusive Access to ensure students have access to course materials

Information in this session will have a direct impact for summer 2023, fall 2023 and beyond. Whether you are a novice or veteran in using publisher materials and/or Inclusive Access, we encourage you to join us virtually via Zoom on Thursday, April 13 from 2 - 3 p.m. (EST).

Creation of Summer 2023 Courses in MyClasses

Summer courses will be created in MyClasses on April 1, and instructors will be enrolled at the same time. Students will be enrolled into the summer courses starting on May 1. Updates to courses and instructor enrollments will be updated once per day at 6 p.m. until student enrollments begin.

If you have multiple sections that need to be combined, please use our MyClasses Combine Sections request located under the MyClasses requests section of the ID&D Support Center. Call for New Student Reflection Facilitators

Center for Civic Reflection in partnership with Salisbury University and PACE

Each fall, Salisbury University welcomes new students to campus with the New Student Reflection (NSR) program. NSR, coordinated by PACE and Student Affairs, uses the method of civic reflection to invite students into conversation as they enter the classroom for the first time. The one-hour program occurs between Convocation and department open houses in classrooms across campus. This year, NSR 2023 takes place on Friday, August 25, and pairs each reflection group (approximately 20 students) with one faculty/staff member and one student orientation leader – and facilitators are needed!

For those interested in facilitating, PACE is holding three in-person training sessions. These sessions are designed for both new and returning facilitators (but are not required for returning facilitators). The training sessions are scheduled for:

  • Thursday, April 20 • 8-10 a.m.
  • Thursday, April 20 • 3-5 p.m.
  • Thursday, August 17 • 1-3 p.m.

If you are interested in signing up for training and/or facilitating a reflection this fall, please fill out the NSR Faculty/Staff Facilitator Training and Reflection Participation form. To learn more about civic reflection, visit the Center for Civic Reflection website.

Available Workshop Sessions on Using New Quizzes: Creating and Migrating Assessments in MyClasses

Want to learn more about New Quizzes? Each month during the fall and spring semesters, ID&D facilitates an online "Using New Quizzes: Creating and Migrating Assessments in MyClasses" workshop.

Workshop Description: Learn how to create and manage online assessments, establish assessment settings, and create and manage question item banks using New Quizzes (which replaces Classic Quizzes in June 2024). In addition to creating assessments and Item Banks in New Quizzes, we will discuss the various pedagogical strategies for assessment construction. Discussion on the appropriate method to migrate assessments from Classic Quizzes to New Quizzes is included in this workshop. While this workshop focuses on New Quizzes, questions regarding Classic Quizzes are also welcome.

Spring 2023 Workshops:

  • Friday, April 7 • 10-11 a.m.
  • Friday, May 5 • 2-3 p.m.

Applying the Quality Matters Rubric (APPQMR) Workshop

The Applying the Quality Matters Rubric (APPQMR) workshop is QM's flagship workshop on the QM Rubric and the process of using the QM Rubric to review online courses. It is intended for a broad audience, including, but not limited to, faculty, instructional designers, administrators and adjunct instructors who wish to understand more about the QM Rubric and process of course review. It is recommended for all faculty teaching an online or hybrid course in order to understand the commitment to quality of Salisbury University’s online and hybrid course offerings. The APPQMR is the prerequisite for the Peer Reviewer Certification Course, which is the required course for any faculty who would like to become a Certified QM Peer Reviewer. Upon completing the APPQMR workshop, participants will receive an official certificate of completion from the Quality Matters Program (QM).
