ID&D Learning Assistants

If you join ID&D's office hours, you may meet on of our wonderful learning assistants! We take this opportunity to introduce you to some of the faces of our office that you might not be familiar with. We also asked them, from a student perspective, "If you could share one tip to faculty, what would it be?" and we have included their answers with their profiles below. If you haven't had the pleasure to already, please meet:

Tip: “MyClasses can be confusing for the students as well as faculty, so, It would never hurt to share what you learn from ID&D that pertain to the students. You could even share our student video tips with them to help them navigate better. All of this software can be complex and is changing all the time, so try to stay updated and help out your students when you can. They will surely appreciate it!”

Faculty Learning Community - Call for Proposals

Faculty Learning Community (FLC) proposals are now being accepted for the upcoming academic year. Your proposal can be for a cohort-based or topic-basic FLC. The proposal should be developed by the prospective FLC facilitator(s) with a budget not to exceed $2,500 (final awards may be modified in light of prevailing budgetary considerations). A newly designed online FLC proposal form and an FLC scoring rubric are both available at the Faculty Learning Communities website.

The due date for proposals is Friday, April 30. For more information on FLCs and the application process, please visit the Faculty Learning Communities website.

Zoom Recording Spring Clean-Up

Information Technology and Instructional Design & Delivery need your help with spring cleaning of your Zoom recordings. Currently, we are at 150% of allocated cloud storage and need to reduce our number of recordings. In order to accomplish this, we are asking faculty and staff who have saved meetings in the cloud to review their recordings to determine whether to save or delete them. To support you, we have created documentation that will give you step-by-step instructions on how to complete these tasks.

Account holders with recordings in the Zoom portal can review, delete and retain recordings through the following methods:

Starting Monday, April 5, Information Technology will retain Zoom meetings for 180 days from the point of the recording’s creation. These recordings are stored in the account holder’s Zoom portal (https://salisbury.zoom.us). After 180 days, a recording will be placed into the trash of the account holder’s Zoom portal. Recordings can be restored from the trash within 30 days but will be permanently deleted after 30 days.

Motto: “Don’t need it, Delete it”
