The Impact of a Growth Mindset

Watering a brain that has a tree growing out of it.

Brew a hot mug of tea (or perhaps coffee if tea isn't your thing) and unwind with some Tea For Teaching podcasts about the impact of faculty and student mindsets!

  • Episode 212Faculty Mindset, features Elizabeth Canning, assistant professor in the Department of Psychology at Washington State University, discussing the impact that faculty mindset has on student achievement.

  • Episode 159, Nurturing a Growth Mindset, features Kelly Theisen, assistant professor of biochemistry at the State University of New York at Plattsburgh, discussing ways to help foster growth mindsets within a course from the beginning to the end of the semester.

The Tea for Teaching podcast is a series of informal discussions of innovative and effective practices in teaching and learning. This podcast series is hosted by John Kane (an economist) and Rebecca Mushtare (a graphic designer). Kane and Mushtare run the Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching at the State University of New York at Oswego.
