SU Town Hall on Preparing for the Future: Return-to-Campus Overview – June 2, 2020

 

SU President Charles Wight hosted a virtual Town Hall on Tuesday, June 2. He was joined by Joan Williams, associate vice president of diversity and inclusion and chief diversity officer, to discuss current events nationally and a campus dialog on race. He also was joined by Dr. Dane Foust, vice president of student affairs, and Victoria Lentz, director of Student Health Services, to discuss plans to return to campus in fall and answer submitted questions. Dr. Leslie Stufft Knight

 

Dr. Leslie Knight '90 graduated from Salisbury with a B.S. in biology and a minor in chemistry. Her experiences at Salisbury assisted her in acquiring leadership and social skills that attributed to much of her success in her current position with the U.S. Air Force as a Colonel and Deputy Command Surgeon at Air Force Materiel Command.

School of Nursing Earns $2.49 Million Grant to Continue Efforts to Prepare More Nursing Faculty

 

The School of Nursing recently received a five-year, $2.49 million continuation grant from the Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC) Nurse Support Program-II to expand the preparation of experienced nurses for clinical teaching positions in Maryland’s nursing programs.

Suspect Scheduled to Plead Guilty in SU Vandelism Case  

 

In early June, the Wicomico County State’s Attorney’s Office announced that Jerome Kevin Jackson, 54, of Princess Anne, MD, signed an intention to enter a guilty plea of maliciously defacing property while demonstrating racial animosity in connection with the racist, misogynistic and threatening vandalism discovered on campus during the 2019-20 academic year, under Maryland’s hate crime statute.
