Juley Harper

Juley Harper '90 graduated from Salisbury with a B.S. in secondary education and a minor in English literature. She continued her education and received her Master's in curriculum and instruction from the University of Delaware. Juley started working as a middle school English teacher at Delmar Middle School and has been involved in education throughout her career. She is currently an associate professor of English at Wor-Wic Community College in Salisbury.

$75 Million 'We Are SU' Campaign a Success

Following three years of the public phase of friend-raising and fundraising, Salisbury University and the SU Foundation, Inc., have surpassed the ambitious $75 million goal for “We Are SU: The Campaign for Salisbury University,” the largest such initiative in campus history.

Passing-of-the-Mace Ceremony Celebrates SU Presidential Transition

In ancient Greece, sacred flames were ritually shared between altars via a relay of torch runners, passing the flame from person to person. Each accepted the duty of ensuring the fire was not extinguished on their watch. Recently, Salisbury University similarly ensured that the flame of education will continue burning brightly at the Eastern Shore campus and its satellite locations, not with the passing of a torch, but with the passing of a mace.

When Salisbury University President Charles Wight dedicated SU’s Center for Equity, Justice and Inclusion in 2018, he did so with the hope of building upon the campus’ culture of diversity and inclusion.

Endowment Supports Future Honors Students, Recognizes Beloved SU Professor

Robert Moyle ’77 is one of countless SU alumni who remember the bond between Dr. Tony Whall and his students, and how he changed their educational experience for the better. The former director of SU’s Thomas E. Bellavance Honors Program, Whall is remembered by many for the passion for what he taught – on many occasions even seeing him drop to his knees with arms outstretched toward a student as he pleaded with them to look at things in a new way. Under his guidance, many students discovered their own passions and went on to find success in graduate programs and rewarding careers they may not have considered before.
