When preparing your gradebook for the end of the semester, please review the End-of-Semester Top 5 Gradebook Tips video for information about:   

  • Ensuring your assignments are in the correct assignment groups  
  • Enabling student What-If Score option or hiding gradebook totals  
  • Addressing missed student assignments  
  • Performing the final grade override  
  • Exporting grades  
 

Please contact your department's instructional designer if you have any questions or need any assistance preparing your gradebook for finalizing grades!  

Important Dates for Winter 2025 Session

The winter 2025 session officially begins on January 2; however, we remind you of a few important dates for winter 2025:

  • December 19: Student access to courses in MyClasses if published
  • January 2: Start of winter session
  • January 2-3: Drop/Add Dates
  • January 6: Inclusive Access opt-out date for students
  • January 23: Last day of classes/finals

Interested in learning more about and discussing international students’ mental health and well-being? Join our book discussion! We will engage in deep conversations about our international students, while also enjoy some light refreshments. Feel free to bring your lunch. This event is free and open to faculty and staff and it will be a hybrid event. RSVP to receive the Zoom link. Three participants at our event will have a chance to get a free copy of the full book. The event is offered on a first-come, first-served basis and is limited to 30 people.

Call for Proposals: SU Teaching and Learning Conference

Mark your calendars for Friday, February 7, 2025, as SU hosts ourannual Teaching and Learning Conference (TLC) from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
 
The annual SU TLC brings together teacher-scholars across campus to share and discuss teaching innovations and best practices. A call for proposals is currently open for 20-minute sessions, 40-minute sessions, panel discussions (up to four presenters) or poster presentations on a variety of themes related to the scholarship of teaching and learning. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Culturally responsive and anti-racist pedagogy
  • Current trends (e.g., artificial intelligence)
  • General Education
  • Inclusive pedagogy (diversity, equity and belonging)
  • Innovative teaching strategies
  • Online, remote and hybrid learning best practices
  • Promoting student wellness and a sense of mattering (e.g. pedagogical partnerships of students and instructors)
  • Strategies for student success
  • Trauma-informed pedagogy
 

The deadline to submit your session proposal is Tuesday, December 10, 2024.
