NCFDD 14-Day Writing Challenge

Person writing in a journal.

The National Center for Faculty Development and Diversity (NCFDD) offers a variety of resources to help academics, of all stages, better align their professional and personal goals. Because SU is a NCFDD Institutional Member, these resources are free to use!

One of the most popular programs is the 14-day writing challenge, which uses best practices to help you create a consistent writing practice. The next opportunity to participate is July 15-July 28. During this time, you are asked to commit to writing every day for at least 30 minutes. You log on to the NCFDD’s online community, start the timer, complete your writing, post your progress and encourage others in your assigned writing group. Past participants credit this program and the accountability of the writing groups with helping them establish better writing habits or refresh stagnant ones. Registration closes Friday, July 5!

Pearson CourseWare for Fall 2024 Courses

Faculty who are planning to use Pearson courseware integration (utilizing publisher content and activities beyond an eBook) with their Fall 2024 courses will need to wait until August 15, 2024 to set up the Pearson integration. ID&D is working with the publisher to upgrade the integration from LTI 1.1 to LTI 1.3.

ID&D will be upgrading both Pearson and VitalSource to LTI 1.3 on August 14. The two work in tandem for Pearson courseware in the Inclusive Access program. So please WAIT until August 15 to setup the Pearson integration in your course.

Additional information and support will be provided by the campus Instructional Designers closer to this date. Please reach out to your Instructional Designer liaison in the meantime if you have any questions.
