From the Dean’s Office

As the fall semester begins, I welcome our new students, six new faculty and a new associate dean to the Perdue School. Despite the restrictions due to COVID-19, this fall still brings a number of opportunities for our students to engage with the business community.

Mathers Named Perdue School Associate Dean

Dr. Ani Mathers, associate professor of finance, also has served as the faculty director for SU’s Business Honors Program, SU’s chapter of the Financial Management Association (FMA), as well as former advisor of the University’s Student United Way chapter.

Dedication of Students Inspires $100,000 Gift for Business Scholarships

After Carl Berquist visited SU as an Executive Leader Speaker, he made the decision to donate $100,000 to establish the Carl T. Berquist Business Scholarship for students who have been admitted to SU’s Perdue School of Business (PSB).

Alum Selected to Attend AICPA’s 2020 Leadership Academy

Sam Kramer was one of only 30 CPAs honored by the American Institute of CPAs as a member of the Leadership Academy’s 12th graduating class. He earned his bachelor degree from SU in 2012 with a major in accounting and a minor in information systems.

Dr. Kathie Wright Serves as a Judge for the USM COVID App Challenge

One of the first initiatives promoted by the COVID-19 Research and Innovation Task Force was the USM COVID App Challenge.
