Perdue School Dean Weer Named President of SWED Board of Directors

Dr. Christy Weer has been named president of the Salisbury-Wicomico Economic Development (SWED) board of directors, the first woman to hold the position in the organization’s 55-year history.

Chambers Selected as 2024 Visiting Fellow at Stanford University’s Hoover Institution

Chambers will research new ways to analyze government regulations using natural language processing (NLP), large language models (LLMs) and deep learning methods during his project “Leveraging AI to Identify Small Business Regulations at the State and Local Levels.”

McDermott Selected as Distinguished Visiting Professor at U.S. Air Force Academy

McDermott will teach negotiation and constitutional law classes while assisting the academy in developing negotiation curriculum.

Salisbury University President Carolyn Ringer Lepre and John Hickman, director of SU’s Business, Economic and Community Outreach Network (BEACON), recently joined peers from across the state in graduating as part of the Leadership Maryland Class of 2023.

SU's Diriker Earns 'Daily Record' Icon Honors

The award salutes Maryland business leaders over age 60 who have demonstrated success and strong leadership within and outside of their careers.
