On Friday, April 2 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. (EST), join us for our "Getting the Most Out of Peer Review: From Conception to Implementation" partner presentation. Helping our students to develop as writers is an ongoing process, and peer review helps them see the writing process from both the perspective of reader and writer. In this session, explore three approaches to implementing peer review and discuss how careful guidance in appropriate feedback supports students' development as writers. This session includes Dr. Carolyne King, director of first-year writing, and Dr. Melissa Bugdal and Dr. Beth Towle, University Writing Center, who describe why they use peer review and how they carefully scaffold this activity. Dr. Sarah Winger, University Analysis, Reporting and Assessment, addresses findings related to Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) for reading and writing from GULL Week, which serves as background for the importance of scaffolding students’ writing in our classrooms. This session will not require pre-registration, but you can submit questions before the session by emailing them directly to hjcristea@salisbury.edu. To access this session on April 2, please go to the Faculty Development Calendar. |
