NCFDD Professor-ing Podcast

Professor-ing: Provided by The National Center for Faculty Development and Diversity

National Center for Faculty Development and Diversity (NCFDD) offers a new holistic podcast called Professor-ing about being a professor, from teaching tools and pedagogical strategies to research and work-life balance. You can listen to this podcast through Spotify, Google Podcasts, Apple Podcasts or Stitcher.

Introduction to Microsoft Teams

By now, many of you may have heard mention of Microsoft Teams, but you're still unsure of what it is or how to use it. It is rapidly becoming the standard for meetings and file sharing among groups of people on campus. You might have noticed when you want to meet with a member of ID&D, you  schedule a meeting through the Bookings tool (also Microsoft). When you book an appointment through Bookings, you will be meeting in Teams. ID&D has created this helpful Teams Scheduling & Use video tutorial for you to watch before meeting with us on Teams.

There are two ways to use Teams – through the Teams Desktop Application or through a web browser (MS Edge or Google Chrome). IT has a training video on Managing Meetings in Microsoft Teamsthat we recommend reviewing before booking a session with a member of ID&D. If you try to join a Teams meeting from an unsupported browser, you will likely receive a message telling you to download the app or join from one of the two accepted browsers. It is important for you to understand the basics of Teams so you can have a successful meeting with your instructional designer, share your screen and not lose contact when you stop screen sharing.

We hope this information helps you understand Microsoft Teams better to have highly successful consultations with ID&D’s instructional designers!
