What were your favorite activities that you were a part of at Salisbury? My three favorite activities at Salisbury relate to what ultimately became my life passions: field hockey, dance, and exploring the world (as a geography major)!
My field hockey experience at SU, on top of my hometown championship culture in Pocomoke City, MD, led me to coach high school field hockey at several schools as I've moved to different places. I love the power of sports to teach life and leadership lessons to young people.
I took dance classes and enjoyed having some SU football players in our class. Their willingness to be vulnerable and grow were lessons I've never forgotten. I still use the neck rolls and stretches that our SU dance teacher taught us with my student-athletes today!
Finally, my education allowed me to develop a strong curiosity in exploring myself and the world around me. Please share your favorite memory from when you were a student. Hands down my favorite memory while attending Salisbury was making it to the 1992 NCAA Division III Final Four in Field Hockey! Seeing firsthand that hard work pays off prepared me for a lifetime of commitment to mission-driven purpose, including both national security, coaching, and parenting. |
