Registration Open for SU Teaching & Learning Conference

 Classroom auditorium  full of staff and faculty for Teaching and Learning Conference

Registration is now open for the 15th Annual Teaching & Learning Conference, which will take place on Friday, February 7, in Perdue Hall from 8:30 a.m. to 3:50 p.m. This will be followed by poster sessions in AC221 (ID&D Faculty Studio) from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The goal of this conference is to bring together teacher-scholars from across campus to share and discuss teaching innovations and best practices.

 

Join us in-person for dynamic sessions led by a variety of SU’s faculty and staff. Dr. Deneen Long-White, 2024 SU Distinguished Faculty Award recipient, will deliver the keynote presentation. A  schedule is available online.

 

Register for the conference by Wednesday, February 5!

The Keynote and select  presentations will be streamed live via Zoom. Participants who register for virtual attendance will receive the Zoom conference details.

Important Dates for Spring 2025 Sessions

As we prepare for the spring 2025 sessions, ID&D shares some important dates to consider for spring sessions:

  • Student Access to MyClasses courses (if published by instructor):
    • Regular session & 7W1 session: Monday, January 20
    • 7W2 session: Monday, March 17
     
  • Start of sessions: 
    • Regular session & 7W1 session: Monday, January 27
    • 7W2 session: Monday, March 24
     
  • Drop/Add Dates:
    • Regular session: January 27-31
    • 7W1 session: January 27-28
    • 7W2 session: March 24-25
     
  • Inclusive Access opt-out date for students:
    • Regular session & 7W1 session: Wednesday, February 5
    • 7W2 session: Wednesday, March 26

Multiple due date setting options in the Assign To field

Multiple Due Dates for Discussions

When creating graded discussions, you can now enable a Discussion Checkpoints option to set multiple due dates to accommodate different stages of the discussion process, such as the initial post and follow-up replies.

Assign Panopto Recordings for Participation

To assign Panopto videos as a graded assignment, the external tool has changes from "Panopto Assignments" to "Panopto Recordings." This update allows you to chose grading parameters based on quiz or viewing completion.

New Quizzes: Export Student Results to CSV

Student Analysis Report is now available in New Quizzes! You can generate a CSV file to download and view a range of student data, such as submission attempts, student responses, points earned, 
overall score and more!
