Classroom auditorium full of staff and faculty for Teaching and Learning Conference.

To commemorate SU's Centennial, faculty, staff, and graduate students are invited to register for the 16th Annual Teaching & Learning Conference and the launch of the "Creative and Scholarly Accomplishments: SU Faculty and Staff Collection," which will take place on Friday, February 6.

The conference brings together teacher-scholars from across campus to share and discuss teaching innovations and best practices. Join us in Perdue Hall from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for dynamic sessions led by a variety of SU's faculty and staff.

Dr. Xiaohong Wang, 2025 SU Distinguished Faculty Award recipient, will deliver the keynote presentation. The full session schedule is available on the TLC website. Sessions in PH 156 will be streamed live via Zoom for virtual attendees.

Immediately following, please join us for the TLC poster session and the launch of the new “Creative and Scholarly Accomplishments (CASA): SU Faculty and Staff Collection” in a Faculty Friday-style celebration. The new collection features colleagues’ books and creative works, with additional publications coming soon. This part of the event will be located in Holloway Hall, Great Hall, and Social Room from 4 to 6:00 p.m.

Call for Portfolio User Experience Group

What is portfolios? A Canvas for Instructors resource.

A new feature is coming to MyClasses - Portfolios! An ePortfolio is an online space where students can create, collect, curate, and connect their academic experiences and engage in reflective writing, a metacognitive process that supports students' ability to turn their experiences into learning. This new feature in Canvas will offer two types of portfolios - evaluation and showcase portfolios.

ID&D is seeking individuals interested in using Portfolios to join a user experience group during spring 2026 to test this new tool in our test environment. The group will meet regularly during the spring semester to learn how to effectively implement portfolios in the student learning experience. The initial meeting of the group will be scheduled for the week of February 9 - 13.
