Welcome to Fridays with the Flock!

Happy Friday!

Here's what's happening this week in Human Resources & Employee Experience!

Management Development Academy

Kicks Off!

What an incredible kickoff to SU's

Management Development Academy!

Nearly 70 leaders from divisions across campus came together on Wednesday, joined by all seven deans for an inspiring first session focused on leadership growth and connection. Designed specifically for current supervisors and managers, this program is all about building on strengths and equipping leaders with new tools for success.

The meeting began with a competitive game of Rock, Paper, Scissors followed by an engaging session where our seven deans shared their leadership journeys and spent time taking leadership development questions from the team in the audience!  It was a fun and informative session to kick off the program for the rest of the year!

This cohort will continue to meet monthly through November, engaging with both

campus leaders and an external management development partner. The energy in the room was undeniable—we’re excited to see how this group grows and leads across campus.

The 2026 SULead Program Begins!

Another cohort of future leaders is off to a fantastic start.

On Friday, March 20, we kicked off the 2026 SULead cohort, bringing together emerging staff

from across campus who are ready to grow, connect, and lead. These team members will explore how each division contributes to SU’s success, connect with campus and community leaders and, build skills that strengthen a leadership mindset!

With opportunities to visit SU Downtown, collaborate on group projects, and expand their

networks, this experience is designed to be both impactful and inspiring.

We look forward to seeing what this group accomplishes.

 Giving Day is April 7!

Get ready Sea Gulls - Giving Day is almost here!

On Tuesday, April 7, our campus community will come together for a 24-hour celebration of

generosity, supporting the departments, programs, teams, and student experiences that make Salisbury so special.

If you feel inspired to participate, your gift can go even further thanks to matching

opportunities from generous alumni, faculty, and friends.

Faculty and staff may consider supporting the Employee Emergency Assistance Fund

(EEAF), which provides critical support to SU employees facing unexpected financial

hardships such as food or housing insecurity, sudden loss of income, or other unforeseen

challenges. On Giving Day, gifts to this fund will be matched dollar for dollar by Dr. Jim Forte,

professor of social work, up to $250.

Every gift of any size makes a meaningful difference.

Thank you for supporting our Sea Gull community.
